Home Quality Mark (HQM)

Our homes have a significant influence on our health and wellbeing. Despite this, 20% of housing stock in England does not meet national Decent Homes Standards.

Building high-quality new homes that fit our current and future needs is a national priority. The Home Quality Mark (HQM) provides developers with the tools and framework to differentiate, prove and communicate their homes, including their indoor air quality.

HQM gives the consumer, clients, financiers and the wider sector the information and reassurance about indoor air quality of the homes they live, finance, procure, plan or own.

IAQ Consultants can support developers achieve credits for HQM, both for indoor and outdoor air quality.

We can help obtain credits for:

Indoor Air Quality

  • Home information
  • Minimising emissions from space and water heating
  • Minimising the effects of cooking
  • Minimising emissions from building product types
  • Minimising airborne formaldehyde from all sources
  • Minimising airborne TVOCs (total volatile organic compounds) from all sources
Outdoor Air Quality

  • Impact on local air quality
